Solanki held for breach of election code
Junagadh, Oct 18 (UNI) Gujarat fisheries minister Purushottam Solanki was yesterday arrested by the police in connection with a complaint of breach of election code of conduct.
Mr Solanki was yesterday arrested at Mangrol and later released on bail, police said today.
According to police, the incident occurred during the Assembly polls campaigning in 2007, when Mr Solanki had come to Sheel village in Mangrol taluka of Junagadh district to address a rally. He continued to address the rally even after the prescribed time limit. Followng this, a complaint was lodged with the police for the violation of the model code of conduct.
