Senior BJP leader cremated
Bhopal, Oct 18 (UNI) The last rites of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha Member and former Madhya Pradesh minister Laxmi Narayan Sharma was performed with state honours here today.
His elder son Deepak lit his pyre at local Bhadbhada Vishram Ghat.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, his cabinet colleagues, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Ministers Sunderlal Patwa and Kailash Joshi, BJP state President Narendra Singh Tomar, State BJP Organisation General Secretary Makhan Singh and other dignitaries were present there.
Earlier, the body was also kept at the BJP office premises for the senior leaders and party members to pay tribute.
Mr Sharma died at a hospital in New Delhi yesterday after a prolonged illness.
He was admitted in the hospital following a cardiac arrest.
