Rs 25,000, 100 cellphones looted from Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, Oct 18: A few unidentified people have robbed Rs 25,000 from a lawyer's house, who filed a petition against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena(MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, while a laptop and over 100 mobile phones have been stolen overnight here.

Police said burglars entered the house of advocate Sudhir Kumar Pappu and robbed him of Rs 25,000, a laptop, a mobile phone and other valuable goods from the Sonari area on Thursday night.

Mr Sudhir had, earlier, filed the petition against Mr Thackeray for using abusive language for the people from Bihar.

In the Bishtupur area, a laptop of Jenu Pres, a resident of Poland, was looted from a taxi yesterday. Mr Pres had come here for some work with the Tata Steel and left his laptop in the taxi.

Investigations were on.

In another incident, some thieves looted 110 mobile phones worth lakh of rupees from a shop on October 16. Police suspected that a gang was involved in the matter.
