Police arrest smugglers with heroin in Jammu
Jammu, Oct 18: Police have arrested two smugglers and seized one kilogram heroin from their possession at Panama Chowk near Jammu Tawi railway station here, official sources today said.
''A police party nabbed the smugglers at Panama Chowk in Trikuta Nagar area and recovered one kg of heroin from them yesterday,'' the sources said.
The arrested were identified as Shakeel Ahmed Malik of Surankot and Maqsood Ahmad Shah of Mendhar, in bordering Poonch district.
The drug consignment was reported to have been smuggled from Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) via Mendhar sector and was meant for sale in Jammu, the sources added.
