Man arrested for vandalising churches
Aluva, Kerala, Oct 18 (UNI) Police today arrested a man in connection with the desecration of two churches at Nedumbassery, near here, on September 20.
Police said Eliyas (46) was arrested on a charge of trespassing, mischief and trying to disturb communal harmony in the area.
Later, a magistrate remanded him to judicial custody till November one.
A Jacobite church and a Catholic Church were allegedly attacked by some miscreants on the night of September 20 in which window panes and a statue of Jesus Christ were damaged.
