JD(S) pay solatium to accident victims
Mandya, Oct 18 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and Janata Dal(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy today paid solatium of Rs 50,000 each from the party funds to next of the kin of six people who were killed in yesterday's road accident in the district.
He visited Holalu village and consoled the relatives of those who died in the accident.
Apart from the six killed 40 others were injured when a private bus skidded off from the road and plunged into a sugarcane field yesterday.
State government had announced a compensation of Rs 5000 to each of the deceased families and Rs 1000 for those who were injured in the incident.
