Bike-borne highway robbers loot farmer of Rs 4.5 lakh
Kapurthala, Oct 18 (UNI) Three motorcycle-borne highway robbers today looted over Rs 4.5 lakh from a farmer by blinding him with chilly powder on Sultanpur Lodhi-Gilla road near Sultanpur Lodhi.
According to police, the farmer Mukhtiar Singh, after withdrawing the money from two banks at Sultanpur Lodhi, was returning to his native village Maniala on a motorcycle when the robbers waylaid him by throwing chilly powder on his face and looted the money.
They also took away the keys of the motorcylce while fleeing.
Mukhtiar Singh had withdrawn the money for making payments to labourers and for the registry of a plot.
Police has registered a case and began investigation.
