Tamil Nadu: 5 DMDK volunteers killed, 3 injured
Perambalur, Tamil Nadu, Oct 18: Five Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) volunteers were killed on the spot and three others injured when a car in which they were travelling collided head-on with a private bus at Alanthur Gate on the Tiruchirapalli-Chennai National Highway near here early today.
Police said the DMDK volunteers, from Nagercoil, were on way to Chennai to attend the party's youth wing conference.
The driver, who attempted to overtake an another vehicle, lost control of the car which collided with the bus, proceeding to Madurai from Chennai.
The injured were admitted to the Government Headquarters Hospital, police added.
