St George's statue broken, culprit caught

Kanniyakumari, Tamil Nadu, Oct 17 (UNI) Tension prevailed at the Kizhmuttam Fishermen Area after a statue of St George was found broken at around 0130 hrs today.

Police said fishermen found the broken statue and lodged a complaint with the police station.

However, the residents caught the culprits and handed them over the police.

The culprit was found to be mentally deranged, police said. SP P Kabikumar Saratar visited the spot.
