Nikhil-Shantanu showcase their collection at WLIFW

New Delhi, Oct 17 : Fashion Designer duo, Nikhil-Shantanu showcased their collection 'Serenity' at the ongoing 'Wills Lifestyle India Fashion' Week here on Thursday.

The collection saw use of diverse fabrics and most of them were developed by the designer's themselves. Lot of surface texturing was done and there were elements of organza, silk tussles from Bhagalpur, which was especially hand woven, and cable knits, which were draped around that represented the rocks.

"The collection is inspired by Ladakh, its mountains and the nature and this is what we have tried to imbibe in our clothes," said Nikhil One of the outfits was made in paper just to represent the fact that we should protect our earth and save the environment.

Top line models of the country set the ramp on fire with their impeccable catwalk.

The Highlight of the show was when model turned actor Deepika Padukone sashayed down the ramp in Shantanu and Nikhil's outfit. Deepika seemed very excited after walking the ramp after Hiatus.

"I think I liked the fact that the inspiration was extremely different from what the people generally come up with. I'm happy after coming here because I'm back here after quiet a while say after about one and a half years. So walking the ramp was a good experience," said Deepika Padukone.

Approximately 80 designers are showcasing their collection in this season of 'Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week', one of the major business-to-business fashion fete. The fashion week would provide a stage to 18 new designers to showcase their talent and make a place for themselves in the glamorous industry.

Around 160 buyers, including 70 from abroad, will attend the spring/summer edition of country's leading business-to-business fashion event from October 15 to19.
