Kerala CM's Delhi protest against Centre 'farce' : Chandy
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 17 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly Oommen Chandy today said the agitation by Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and his Cabinet colleagues in front of Parliament was a ''farce'' aimed to derive political mileage.
Addressing a stir in front of the state secretariat organised by the United Democratic Front against Mr Achutanandan and his cabinet colleagues' dharna in New Delhi, Mr Chandy questioned the rationale behind the protest.
''On what moral right Mr Achuthanandan and his cabinet colleagues are protesting against the Centre,'' he asked.
The protest was only to hide the LDF government's failure and to divert the attention of the people, Mr Chandy said and added that the government had no right to protest in Delhi.
Stating that the Centre had allotted many projects to the state, he alleged that the projects were delayed only due to the laxity of the state government.
He said the Centre would look into the rice quota of the state.
