Journalists Organisation condemn attack on The Hindu offices
Chennai, Oct 17 (UNI) The Joint Action Council of Journalists Organisation today condemned the attack on the offices of ''The Hindu'' at Erode and Coimbatore and urged the police to take stern action aginst those involved in the incidents.
The Joint Action Council, comprising Madras Reporters Guild, Chennai Press Club, Madras Union of Journalists, All Media Journalists Association and Tamil Nadu Journalists Union, in a statement here described the attack on the newspaper offices as a direct attack on press freedom.
Condemning the attack on The Hindu office and burning of copies of The Hindu and Business Line, the Council demanded that the police take stringent action against those, who were involved in the anti-democratic acts.
