DMK founder MGR statue in Salem

Salem, Oct 17: It is MGR's 37th birth anniversary and to mark the beginning the year-long celebration an MGR statue will be unveiled. Jayalalitha will unveil the statue of DMK founder leader and former Chief Minister MG Ramachandran at Rasipuram in Namakkal district on Friday, Oct 17.

Under the supervision of former chief minister O. Panneerselvam, elaborate arrangements are being made in Rasipuram for the leader"s visit. The meeting at Rasipuram will also signal the beginning of the party"s year long anniversary celebrations. AIADMK cadres from Western Zone have started pouring in to Rasipuram in view of the function since Thursday evening. Salem Range police also have made security arrangements.
