CM's agitation nothing but political gimmick: UDF

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 17 (UNI) Alleging that the ''Parliament march'' by Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and his Cabinet colleagues was to cover up the ''inefficiency'' of his government, the Opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) in the state today said such a protest was unwarranted.

Talking to reporters here, UDF convener P P Thankachan said the agitation in protest against the Centre's alleged neglect of the state was only a ''political drama'' to hide its ''laxity and inefficiency'' from the people.

Alleging that about Rs three crore was spent from the treasury for the Delhi agitation, he said under a federal set-up such stirs could not be condoned. It was nothing but a ''political gimmick'' with an eye on the coming Lok Sabha elections, he added.
