AMW showcases six GEN-NEXT commercial vehicles
Bangalore, Oct 17 (UNI) Asia Motor Works Ltd. (AMW), a market leader in the 49-tonne commercial vehicle segment, today showcased six GEN-NEXT commercial vehicles in the medium and heavy haulage segments at its first ever showcase in Karnataka.
Speaking on the occasion, AMW Managing Director and CEO Anirudh Bhuwalka said that ''the Government's thrust on infrastructure and steps to increase credit, combined with the fall in crude prices would help stimulate demand in our sector." The company had on display its full range of vehicles to enable transport operators and drivers to get a first hand 'touch, feel and drive' experience.
AMW Vice President (Marketing) Rajesh Mangal said that ''the heavy-duty commercial vehicle industry in Karnataka accounts for over 6000 vehicles per annum in the mining and construction industries. AMW has a market share of 90 per cent in the 49-tonne truck segment and hope to replicate the same success in Karnataka.
He said that the company planning to move deeper into the Indian market by introducing new products in trucks and tractors, besides ensuring that the existing products more freely available to untapped territories.
