Tamil Nadu: Bail adjourned in Vijayan Case

Chennai, Oct 16: Ruling out immediate bail for N Banu, the prime accused in the MGR Vijayan Murder Case, Madras High Court has adjourned hearing on her bail petition to next month.

Mr Justice T Sudhanthiram,before whom the petition came up for hearing yesterday,said the court was not in favour of granting bail to her now as the investigation was at a crucial stage.

Government Pleader(GP) A Saravanan told the court that police had sifted through over one lakh calls made to thousands of mobile phones covered by four telecom towers, where Banu lived.

The GP further submitted that the prosecution had unassailable evidence and added her release would affect the progress of the probe.
