Velammal's talent search exam prelims on Nov 6

Coimbatore, Oct 16: The preliminary round of the Velammal"s State-level Science Talent Search Examination organised by the Velammal Educational Trust will be conducted on Saturday, Nov 22 for students from Standard I to Plus-Two. The examination will be conducted in the respective school premises. The curriculum-based examination will be conducted at six levels. The final round will be held at 11 regional headquarters - Chennai, Coimbatore, Kancheepuram, Madurai, Nagercoil, Puducherry, Salem, Thanjavur, Thirunelveli, Tiruchi and Vellore.

The 90-minute examination will be in English and Tamil. For level I (Standards I and II), the question paper will contain 75 questions and 20 additional questions. For levels II-IV (Standards III to Plus-Two), the question paper will contain 100 questions and 20 additional questions.

Cash prizes will be awarded for all the levels separately. More than 3,500 consolation prizes will be distributed. All participants will be given participation certificates. All participants who enter the final round will be given prizes.

The final round will be held on Sunday, Jan 25, 2009. The last date for receiving entries is Thursday, Nov 6.
