State government stops grant for 787 PTA teachers
Shimla, Oct 16 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has decided to discontinue the grant-in-aid for 787 Parent Teacher Association appointee teachers, who were found ineligible for the post after an official inquiry.
Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Ishwar Dass Dhiman while addressing a press conference here today said that out of about 3100 complaints against the PTA teachers appointed during the tenure of last Congress government, 2,084 complaints had been disposed of while 787 teachers were found ineligible so far by the Deepak Shanan enquiry committee.
Mr Dhiman said that in Mandi district alone 212 PTA teachers were found ineligible on various counts.
He said that though the state government would not dismiss the ineligible PTA teachers however, the Grant-in-aid given to them would be stopped.
He said that PTA policy would continue in the state but PTA appointees would be replaced during regular posting by State Department as per the policy of PTA Teachers being framed up by the government.
