Rs 28 lakh 'hawala' money seized, one held
Malappurm, Oct 16 (UNI) Police today seized Rs 28.27 lakh 'hawala' money from two places in the district and arrested one person.
On a tip-off, they seized Rs 14.93 lakh from one Dharmarajan hailing from Madurai in Tamil Nadu, at a bus-stand in Perithalmanna.
On information from the arrested, police seized Rs 13.34 lakh from the residence of his accomplice Siddique in Manjeri.
They would be handed over to the Enforcement Directorate after preliminary inquiry, the police added.
