Pondy: JIPMER students to organise painting fest

Puducherry,Oct 16: The students social service committee of JIPMER here will organise a painting exhibition-cum-sale for two days from October 18 to sponsor and educate underprivileged children.

Addressing a press conference today Secretary of the society Mr John Robert said about 20 paintings by students of JIPMER, Bharathiyar Palkalaikoodam and several medical and engineering colleges in Puducherry and Bangalore would be displayed at the exhibition, "Un Bel Espoir"(A beautiful Hope).

He said the society had before organised a cultural competetion "Spandan" and raised funds to sponsor lunch for mentally challenged children. It had also organised blood donation camps, and distributed medicines and clothes to the needy.
