Implement 6th Pay Commission, Taragmi to government

Srinagar, oct 16 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (M) has expressed dismay over delaying of implementation of the sixth Pay Commission.

In a satement here today, the State Secretary of the CPI (M) Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami said that unnecessary delay in implementation of the recommendations has caused anger among the employees.

Mr Tarigami demanded immediate implementation of the recommendation and also removal of the pay anomalies among different cadres of employees, especially those of the low paid.

He said that regularisation of adhoc, contractual, daily rated and need-based employees may also be brought into effect immediately.

''How far can the expectation of getting six to seven hours work at Rs 50 per day from an employees be justified'' Tarigami questioned and said that with the implementation of the sixth Pay Commission, the remuneration of adhoc, daily rated, contractual and need-based employees be enhanced.

He said such employees have been working for years together with minimum wages being paid to them.
