GM launches new Aveo U-VA at Rs 5.10 lac

New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) General Motors India today launched the new variant of Chevrolet Aveo U-VA priced at Rs 5.10 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi), with the plans to sell about 1,000 cars a month.

''The earlier version use to do around 750-800 units a month ...but with this new variant, we are quite confident of pushing the sales figure to 1,000 units a month,'' company Vice President (Corporate Affairs) P Balendran told reporters here.

Asked about the overall sales target, he said, ''Earlier we had set a target of selling 90,000 units in the current year. But, going by the current market scenario, we are still confident of selling 85,000 units.'' The company, which launched U-VA in December 2006, has registered an overall growth of 32 per cent across all segments from January 2008 till date.

GM India recently commenced production from its Talegaon facility in Maharashtara which is mainly dedicated to the small car segments.
