GM India eyes 10% market share by 2010
New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) Banking upon its current product portfolio and other offerings in the pipeline, General Motor India today said it plans to capture 10 per cent share in the domestic market.
''We have a market share of four percent at the present monent whichwe plan to increase to 10 per cent by 2010,'' company Vice President (Corporate Affairs) P Balendran told reporters here while unveiling the new varaiant of the Chevrolet Aveo U-VA.
The company is also working on various new models which will be rolled out in due course of time, he said. ''Among the new offerings will be a locally manufactured car for the small car segment.'' Regarding the other products, he said the company has still pending orders for its Chevrolet Spark and Captavia.
''We have to deliver 6,000 units of Spark to our customers...
though we initially planned to sell 800 units of the Captavia, we have sold over 2,500 units till date.'' The company is also working on rolling out CNG and LPG versions of its cars in due course of time and is also planning an automatic version of Captavia.
