Dry weather prevailed over North Interior Karnataka

Bangalore, Oct 16 (UNI) Following is a Summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Rainfall occurred at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over North Interior Karnataka.

Chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Davanagere 4, Chitradurga, Shiralkoppa, Belur, Bagepalli, Hosadurga, Madhugiri 2 each, Bhatkal, Sravanabelgola, Bangalore City, Bangalore HAL Airport, Kolar, Channagiri, Holalkere, C.N.Halli, Tiptur Sira 1 each.

Temperatures : Maximum temperatures changed little over the State. They were markedly above normal at most places over Coastal Karnataka, above normal at a few places over Interior Karnataka.

Karwar recorded highest maximum temperature of 37.7 degree Celsius over the State.

Minimum temperatures changed little over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka and rose at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

They were above normal at most places being appreciably so at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and were normal over Interior Karnataka. Bagalkote recorded lowest mininmum temperature of 17.2 degree Celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Saturday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over Coastal Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather may prevail over North Interior Karnataka.

Outlook for subsequent two days: Increase in rainfall is expected over the State.

Local forecast: Generally cloudy. Rain/thundershowers likely.
