No clinical improvement in Dasmunsi, say doctors

New Delhi, Oct.16 : Doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Thursday said that there was no clinical improvement in the condition of Union Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi, who was admitted on Monday morning after suffering a severe heart attack.

"He has shown no further clinical improvement. His condition remains to be the same as yesterday," said Dr D K Sharma, the Medical Superintendent of AIIMS.

The 62-year old minister has been taken off the ventilator and his vital parameters including blood pressure, heart rate are stable. His blood sugar is under control, kidneys are functioning normal and urine output is also normal, he said.

The clinical parameters of his brain are showing a positive trend and his breathing is normal. His cardiac and neurological status is under close observation, the doctor added.

Sharma, however, said the condition of Dasmunsi is still not completely out of danger.

Dasmunsi was admitted at around 1.35 a.m. on Monday following a complete left ventricular failure. His condition has been critical since then.
