Class India harvesters to be exported to Afro-Asian nations
Morinda, Oct 16 (UNI) Multi-crop harvesters will now be exported from the new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility here of CLAAS India Limited, mainly to Afro-Asian countries.
The first combine harvester CROP TIGER was today flagged off from the new facility to Sudan.
Jan-Hendrik Mohr, responsible for the worldwide production of combine harvesters said on the occasion that the Morinda facilty was equipped with the latest technology had the capacity to produce 900 combines annually.
Depending upon market demand, this can be increased to more than 1,200 units in phase 2, he said.
According to Mr. Lothar Kriszun, member of the group executive board, this gave CLAAS the possibility not only to serve the increasing demand of the Indian market, but also to meet the requirements of Asian and African countries like South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Iran, Sudan, Tanzania, Republic South Africa and among others.
"Now, with our 2 manufacturing facilities in India and the locational advantage in terms of proximity to Asian and African markets, we are expecting to leverage exports in these markets even further", Mr. Pradeep K. Malik President and Managing Director of CLAAS India Ltd. said.
With its technology made in Germany, the CROP TIGER 60 accommodates the high moisture content of the straw especially prevailing in Asian and African countries. It can harvest wheat, soybean, mustard, variety of rice including high valued basmati, muchhal and many more crops, he said.
The versatile machine is equipped with a 15 feet cutterbar, well suited for Indian fields and is driven by a 125 hp turbo engine which ensures full performance even in the toughest field conditions. It has ability to provide an output of up to 9 tons of wheat per hour, and a capacity of 3,000 litre grain tank.
Besides India, the markets for the CROP TIGER machines are mainly South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Iran and many other countries in South East Asia, he said.
