1 spotboy killed during shooting of Ramayan in Vadodara

Vadodara, Oct 15 (UNI) A 35-year-old spotboy was hacked to death during the shooting of epic serial Ramayan at the Sagar Film studio at Sayajipura on the outskirts of the city this evening.

The victim identified as Sajid Saiyed was allegedly attacked by another spotboy with a bhala following an altercation between the two on the set during shooting of a war scene.

Sajid reportedly succumbed to his injuries before he was rushed to the local Kalawati hospital.

Soon after the news spread, a local mob, including some relatives of the deceased, attacked Sagar studio causing heavy damage to its property. Police had rushed to the spot.

It was not immediately known if any artiste of the serial was injured in the mob attack.

Police sources said a manhunt had been launched to nab the accused, Manu, who managed to flee after killing Sajid, a local resident. No official of the Sagar Film studio was available for comment. Panigate police were investigating into the incident.
