Yeddyurappa adopts Royal Bengal Tiger
Mysore, Oct 15 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has adopted a Royal Bengal Tiger, housed in Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden here, Zoo Executive Director Vijayaranjan Singh said today.
In a release here, he said the Chief Minister adopted the tiger for a period of one-year by contributing Rs 90,000.
Appreciating Mr Yeddyurappa's concern for wildlife, Mr Singh said this was for the first time a tiger in the Zoo was adopted since introduction of the Animal Adoption Scheme in 2001-02.
