Venkaiah deplores UPA for deferring polls in J
Jaipur, Oct 15 (UNI) Former BJP president and party state election coordinator for Rajasthan M Venkaiah Naidu today deplored the UPA Government for not holding Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and urged the Election Commission to immediately announce election schedule for the bordering state.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Naidu said the EC's decision not to announce poll schedule for Jammu and Kashmir had conveyed a wrong message internationally.
He alleged that Manmohan Singh Government at the Centre had postponed the elections in that state after sensing the possibility of loss to the Congress.
