Special Police team to trap child killer, Jugnu
Chennai, Oct 15: Chennai Police an Maharashtra Police have formed special team to trap the Child killer, Jugnu. The killer had kidnapped and murdered a two-and-half year old child, Monik at Thirumullaivoyal few weeks ago. The special team formed is headed by a Mumbai deputy Commissioner of Police."We are now searching for the person who keeps passing information to Jugunu about the progress of the investigation and details about his (Jugunu"s) family," a police officer said.
When inquiries revealed he was hiding in Ernakulam, a special team was sent there. Jugunu then left for Andhra Pradesh by train. From there, he went to Orissa, Kolkata, MP, Jharkhand and Maharastra. The police managed to keep track of his locations through his mobile.
“Recently, he called up his father in the city and asked him whether the police were torturing the family members. The way he spoke to his father gave the impression that he was in frequent contact with some of his friends, who in turn, were giving him tips. A separate police team headed by a Mumbai DSP and one special team from Chennai are on the lookout for Jugunu in Maharastra. We are also searching for his friends and relatives who are keeping him posted of the police inquiry," a police officer said.
The police have circulated a copy of the FIR, translated into Hindi with Jugunu"s photograph, in Maharashtra. “We will nab him within a couple of days," the officer said.
