Precious metals open high on bullish advice

Mumbai, Oct 15: Both the precious metals rose on in the opening session, with silver increasing by Rs 45 per kg and gold by Rs 50 per ten gm, from their previous finish on speculative demand from industrial users along with encouraging global advices, traders in the Bombay Bullion Association said.

In international market also, a positive sentiment was seen as gold was quoted at USD 848.00/848.50 per ounce (USD 846.00/846.50), while silver was quoted at USD 11.20/11.22 an ounce (USD 10.86/10.87), market report said.

Following were the opening domestic spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 19,300 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 13,180 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 13,245.
