Miraj-Pandharpur train to be missed for a year
Sangli, Oct 15 (UNI) Devotees from Karnataka and Maharashtra, proceeding to the pilgrimage town of Pandharpur, will miss the popular Miraj-Pandarpur train as the journey of 'Devache Gadee' (God's train) was being stopped from today for track conversion work.
The track of the Miraj-Pandharpur train would be converted into broad guage from narrow gauge within a year. The train has been running continuously for the last 80 years.
After a long-pending demand for conversion of the track into a broadguage line, the Railway Ministry finally sanctioned the proposal in the budget for the current financial year, sources said.
