Karnataka Chief Minister adopts Tiger for one year
Mysore, Oct 15 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has adopted a Royal Bengal Tiger housed in Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden here. Zoo Executive Director Vijayaranjan Singh said today.
In a release here, he said that the Chief Minister adopted the tiger for a period of one year by contributing Rs 90,000.
Appreciating Mr Yeddyurappa's concern towards welfare of the wildlife, Mr Singh said that this was for the first time a tiger in the Zoo was adopted since introduction of the Animal Adoption Scheme in 2001-02.
