Haryana gets Transport Minister's Trophy
Chandigarh, Oct 15 (UNI) The Haryana Roadways has bagged the prestigious Transport Minister's Trophy and a cash award of Rs three lakh for having the 'Lowest Accident Record in Mofussil services operations' for the years 2005-2006 and 2006-07.
An official spokesman said the trophy and cash award was presented by Union Surface Transport Secretary Brahm Dutt to Haryana State Transport Controller Saroj Siwach in New Delhi today during the 53rd Annual Conference of State Road Transport Undertakings.
He said the Haryana Roadways had been adhering to strict road safety measures and the rate of accidents involving the Haryana Roadways buses had decreased from 0.21 per one lakh km in 1994-95 to 0.08 in the year 2005-06 and 2006-07.
