Fertiliser companies should not worry on payment of subsidy: Paswan
New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) Union Minister for Steel, Chemicals and Fertilisers Ram Vilas Paswan has said that the fertiliser companies need not worry about the payment of subsidies.
He said there is no arrear as regards the payment and additional requirements will be met out of the supplementary demand for grants.
Mr Paswan said this while receiving the dividend cheque of Rs 31.83 crore for the year 2007-08 from the public sector National Fertilisers Limited (NFL).
The Minister said international prices of fertiliser have fallen which will help to bring down the subsidy bill. But part of the gain will be off set by the fall in the exchange rate of rupee.
He said the government has decided to revive eight closed fertiliser units and it is also trying to augment the supply of gas.
The fall in the price of crude consequently the price of naptha has also helped to bring down the cost of production of naptha based units.
