Advani sounds bugle for elections with eyes rivetted at New Delhi
Ranchi, Oct 15 (UNI) A day after elections dates had been announced in five states, the BJP today chose Jharkhand to sound clarion call to voters and asked them to cast ballots fearlessly, particularly in New Delhi, where the party felt the UPA should ''learn a lesson'' for their repeated mistakes.
The party's Prime Ministerial candidate while addressing a Sankalp Rally at the historic Morabadi ground here said, he had a soft corner for this state as it was created during the NDA government's regime.
He appealed to the people here who lived in the national capital to vote enmasse so that the fall of the UPA in New Delhi would break the morale of the party in the run up to the parliamentary elections due next year.
During his 35-minute speech, the BJP leader significantly did not utter a single word on the recent violence in Orissa and Bangalore or Ram Mandir but furnished a list of failures of the Congress since independence.
Mr Advani said he always loved to come to Jharkhand but the amount of pleasure he got in Uttarakhand and Chattisgarh was marvellous meaning that the NDA governments in the respective states were delivering the goods and the non-NDA government in this state shattered the dream of people here though all the three states were made during Vajpayee-led NDA government simultaneously.
He said the time has come to usher in good governance and the people would soon get the opportunity next month adding ''let us oust the Congress government in New Delhi first''.
Referring to recent bomb attacks in the national capital, the BJP leader said the Congress' caste based politics and soft attitude towards a particular community encouraged the terrorists so much so that they were hardly afraid of unleashing terror.
