9 killed, 17 injured in road accident

Mandi, Oct 15 (UNI) Nine people were killed and 17 were injured when a jeep in which they were travelling rolled down into a gorge at Sallana near Urla in the district this evening.

Mandi SP S Shekhar said the accident occurred after the vehicle's driver lost control over the wheels while negotiating a sharp turn.

He said nine people were killed on the spot.

Out of the total injured, eight were reportedly in a serious condition.

All the injured were admitted to the Primary Health Centre at Padhar. The dead and the injured belonged to Khajanni and Juggal villages and were returning home after attending a birthday party at a nearby village.
