Sushma Swaraj lights mahurat lamp for Vijayaraje film

Mumbai, Oct 14 (UNI) Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj today lighted the ceremonial lamp at the ''mahurat'' of the period film ''Ek Thi Raani Aisi Bhi'' here.

The film, starring Hema Malini, Vinod Khanna and Sachin Khedekar, is based on Mridula Sinha's - ''Rajpath Se Lokpath Par''- autobiography of late BJP leader and former queen of Gwalior Vijayaraje Scindia.

The story begins at the juncture of Independence, initiation of Vijayaraje in the political arena, her emergence as an opposition leader, her arrest during the 1975 emergency and the fruition of her life-long dreams.

The film is being directed by Gul Bahar Singh and produced by Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindhia Smriti Nyas.
