Sugar prices recover
Navi Mumbai, Oct 14 (UNI) Sugar prices recovered today following brisk buying support from stockists, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.
Small grade sugar rose by Rs two per quintal on fresh demand from stockists while medium grade slightly declined by Rs one per quintal, on lower buying support by bulk consumers.
In ex-mill grade, small and medium grade sugar shot up by Rs five and Rs 15 per quintal respectively, amid lesser stock supply from stockists, traders added.
Following were the spot wholesale rates of sugar per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,757/1,790, medium grade: Rs 1,789/1,890, Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,720/1,755 and medium grade: Rs 1,765/1,830.
