Spl Funds for TPs and Corporations for overall development: Yeddy
Mysore, Oct 14 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today announced that special funds would be allocated in the next Budget to Taluk Panchayat and Corporations for overall development.
Speaking at the centenary celebrations of Siddaganga seer Shivakumar Swamiji, he said that already Rs 100 crore was earmarked for various Corporations and it would be extended to district, taluk and hobli level local bodies to take up developmental works in a big way.
He said that there would be a sea of change during the next three years in the state with overall development in each and every sector taking place.
Claiming that financial position of the State was sound and there was no dearth of the funds to takes up the programmes and fulfill the promises made by the BJP in the election manifesto.
Taking a dig at the opposition parties, he said that they (opposition parties) should play a constructive rule and should abide by the peoples verdict. "Anything against the verdict would be an assault to the democratic set up in the country," he added. Speaking on the occasion Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Math, recalled the services of the sidaganga seer not only in the field of education but in all walks of life.
