Oppn leader demands immediate steps to resolve teachers' issues

Puducherry, Oct 14 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in Puducherry Assembly A M H Nazeem today urged the administration to take immediate steps to redress the grievances of teachers in the Union Territory.

In a statement here, Mr Nazeem pointed out that the teachers were on a sit-in strike for the last one week to press their demands, including implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.

Since it was unfair on the part of the government to make the teachers, who need to be respected, resort to further agitations, the administration should take immediate steps in this regard, he added.
