K'taka plans to develop eco-friendly cities
Hubli, Oct 14 (UNI) Karnataka Urban Development and Law Minister Suresh Kumar today said the state government had planned to develop eco-friendly cities and towns in the state.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the local bodies in these areas would be brought closer to the people and made to respond to the problems of the citizens.
Pointing out that there had been widespread dissatisfaction over the provision of basic amenities like drinking water, roads and sanitation in the twin cities of Hubli and Dharwad, Mr Kumar said Rs 100 crore had been allocated for their comprehensive development.
Out of this Rs 50 crore had already been released, he added.
