Dasmunsi's condition still critical, President visits AIIMS

New Delhi, Oct 14 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today visited Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where the Union Minister's condition continues to be critical.

''The health condition of Mr Dasmunsi continues to be critical,'' hospital sources said.

Mr Dasmunsi, who was admitted to the AIIMS yesterday, following an acute heart problem, is still on the ventilator though his vitals were being maintained, the sources said.

They said Ms Patil visited Mr Dasmunsi in the hospital this morning.

The condition of Mr Dasmunsi was being constantly monitored by a team of doctors.

Hospital sources said Mr Dasmunsi was brought to the hospital after he complained of breathlessness, due to lung congestion caused by heart failure.

The senior Congress leader had suffered a heart attack on July 6 while on way to Kolkata from Malda after attending a meeting.

He had undergone an angioplasty and stenting of two coronary arteries in a hospital in Kolkata.
