Dasmunsi's condition serious but stable, say doctors

New Delhi, Oct 14 (UNI) The condition of Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi continues to be serious but stable, said doctors.

According to AIIMS medical superintendent D K Sharma, the minister's condition remains serious, but his vitals were stable.

Earlier in the day, President Pratibha Devisingh Patil visited Mr Dasmunsi at the hospital.

He was admitted to the AIIMS yesterday after he complained of breathlessness, due to lung congestion caused by heart failure and is still on the ventilator though, his vitals were being maintained, hospital sources said.

The condition of the Union Minister was being constantly monitored by a team of doctors.

The senior Congress leader had earlier suffered a heart attack on July 6, 2008 while on way to Kolkata from Malda after attending a meeting.

He had undergone an angioplasty and stenting of two coronary arteries in a hospital in Kolkata.
