Advani presents Korath award to M V Kamath

Kozhikode, Oct 14: Leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani presented the first V M Korath National Award-2008 to veteran journalist M V Kamath at a function, here on Tuesday, Oct 14.

The award, instituted by Thapasya Art and Literary Forum in memory of freedom fighter and jouranlist V M Korath for excellence in journalism, carries a cash prize of Rs one lakh, memento and a citation.

Conferring the award, Mr Advani described Mr Kamath as a living legend, who considered the profession as a mission.

Former Union Minister O Rajagopal, BJP State unit President P K Krishna Das former BJP President P S Sreedharan Pillai, Mahakavi Akkitham and well known writer K M Roy also attended the function.
