Act on Lanka or TN MPs will resign en masse, Centre warned

Chennai, Oct 14 (UNI) The All party meeting convened by the DMK Government in Tamil Nadu on the Sri Lankan issue tonight warned that all the MPs from Tamil Nadu would resign en masse if the Centre did not intervene and send relief materials to the suffering Tamils within two weeks.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at the nearly four-hour- long marathon meeting, chaired by Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi, at the State Secretariat.

Issuing an ultimatum to the Centre, the meeting, apart from demanding Centre's intervention, wanted the Congress-led UPA Government to immediately send relief materials or else 'allow us to send them.' ''If the Centre does not send relief materials within two weeks, all the MPs from Tamil Nadu will resign en masse,'' the resolution said.
