Univ of Petroleum

Dehra Dun, Oct 13 (UNI) The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Dehra Dun, has received a 1.37 million dollar software donation from leading oilfield services company Schlumberger.

The cutting edge oilfield and modelling softwares would cater to students pursuing Geosciences and Petroleum Engineering at the University.

The softwares include Petrel seismic-to-seismic simulation software and ECLIPSE simulation software, both of which are used worldwide within the industry.

The Petrel software applies a model-centric methodology to 'prospecting' through to 'production process' and enables asset teams to integrate and collaborate on a unified earth model for faster decision-making, a press release issued by the University stated.

Schlumberger would present the softwares in a simple ceremony at the Main campus Bidholi to Pro Vice Chancellor Prof G C Tewari tomorrow, the release added.
