Rajnath assures Centre all cooperation of BJP to fight terrorism
New Delhi, Oct 13 (UNI) Assuring all cooperation to the Centre in the fight against terrorism, BJP president Rajnath Singh today warned the Centre not to threaten only the BJP-ruled states to invoke article 355 or 356.
''Violence have occurred in other states also. But the Centre preferred to send advisories to some BJP-ruled states only. Such kind of discrimination will do no good,'' he told the National Integration Council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, here.
The BJP president said his party was all for communal harmony and would cooperate with the Centre to maintain peace. But he objected to the demand for a ban on the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) by some quarters. How can you equate the two outfits with Indian Mujahideen or SIMI? he asked.
Mr Rajnath Singh also objected to Delhi encounter of security forces with terrorists in Jamia Nagar being dubbed as 'fake'. It would demoralise the security forces, he warned.
