Kolar: 10 killed, 19 injured in a bus collision
Kolar (Karnataka), Oct 13: At least ten people were killed and 19 others injured when two Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses collided at Hanumana cross, 15 kms from Karnataka's Kolar District, in the wee hours on Monday, Oct 13. According to police, one of the buses was on its way from Tirupati to Bangalore and the other was going to Chennai from Bangalore. Some of the injured are undergoing treatment at hospital in Bangalore and Kolar.
The deceased have been identified as Volve bus driver, Lakshmaiyya, Chennai passengers, Amit Kumar Singh, Rekha, Nagaraj from Hassan, Vishnupriya, Pankaj, Sachin from Bangalore's RT Nagar. The details of other three passengers are still not known.
"Six of the passengers died on the spot. Four others injured were shifted to hospital. They didnot respond to any medication and breathed their last," said Senior Congress Leader and Chikkaballapur MP, R L Jalappa.
