Double murder in city
Chennai, Oct 13 (UNI) Two people, including the younger brother of a Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) functionary, were hacked to death at suburban Avadi late last night.
Police identified the deceased as Sivakumar (26), brother of the VCK Legal Wing Secretary and Prem (25) belonging to a rival group.
The incident took place near the Annanagar Higher Secondary School when Sivakumar and his close friend Boopalan were travelling in a car.
A gang led by Prem, waylaid the car, took Sivakumar to a secluded spot and hacked him to death, after attacking him with lethal weapons.
In a retaliatory attack, Boopalan, unable to bear his friend dying in front of him, immediately stabbed Prem to death.
Previous enmity was said to be the reason for the killings. The bodies were sent to government hospital for postmortem. Police has registered a case and were investigating.
